During his 15+ year career in employee engagement/internal communications, J.D. has touched all facets of the employee experience. This includes leading employee events and rewards programs for eBay’s North America Support Operations, as well as creating both the employee and community engagement programs for that BU. He led employee engagement and internal communications for the global Social Innovation team, and during that time, built many enduring programs across the company to engage employees around eBay’s philanthropic and sustainability efforts. J.D. was the employee engagement/communications business partner to the heads of two of the three BU’s within Symantec. He worked directly with those leaders and their teams to create and execute strategy to engage employees in unique, fun and strategic ways that align with the company mission and values. His One Moment with and 90 Seconds with JD video series’ have become favorites among employees and the question he gets most in the halls is when the next ones are coming out. JD now leads internal communications at Fitbit where he has the opportunity to build a communications framework from the ground up. He is passionate about creating outside-the-box solutions for communicating and engaging, not just minds, but also hearts and hands, with the goal of building camaraderie, strengthening culture, and creating an amazing employee experience.
